A MASSIVE CABINET: THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS QUALITY
Precise
woodwork is especially important. Our cabinets are made of plwood, with special stiffening
andjoining technologies. Besides minimizing harmful resonance, this ensures protection
from external impacts. The aesthetic triple-layered painting protects the cabinets from
dampness and wear.
The speakers themselves are
protected from mechanical impact by steel grating and special sound-permeable material
called AcouFoam® . Our units are designed and tested on stage-of-art design
and simulation software.
THE RIGHT CROSSOVER: THE
SECOND STEP
Besides
the speakers, the sound of a cabinet is determined by the crossover. The filter's
frequency response as well as their impedance and phase response should be selected
carefully. Our cabinets feature only ACO™
(Acoustic Crossover
Optimization) crossovers developed by Garry®
ELECTRONIC.
CONNECTORS: LINK TO THE
AMPLIFIER
Besides
a good crossover, performance loss can also be minimize by using the right connectors. Our
PR cabinets feature two-poles SPEAKON™ connectors, whereas four-poles
SPEAKON™ are used in TOP units. The carefully designed, sunk connector layout
allows for simple connection and provides mechanical protection.
CHOOSING
THE RIGHT POWER HANDLING
Many performance
standards are used for speakers around the world. When listening to a cabinet's/speaker's
sinusoidal performance, the formula is simple: the RMS performance equals the signal's
effective value.
A normal musical signal however is much
different from a sinusoidal one.Hence the AES2-1984 Standard*, which is
more tailored to user's need.
Called "Continous Program Power", the method measures musical performace when
the amplifier is unclipped and the sign does not go through an acoustic
processor(UNPROCESSED).
Speakers usually tolerate short bursts of peak power but low-level signals from an
overloaded amplifier or a mixer demage them. Please concider this when you set up your
sound system.
